Citavi Picker for Acrobat Reader XI

Citavi LogoThe reference management tool Citavi uses “Picker” for seamless integration into pdfs and Firefox as well as Internet Explorer.

Problem:
After updating to Acrobat XI the Citavi Picker for Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat no longer works.

Solution
The Picker must be manually copied from the Acrobat or Reader X folder to the Acrobat or Reader XI folder:

  1. In Windows Explorer open the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\plug_ins
  2. Copy the Citavi Picker folder
  3. Paste the Citavi Picker folder in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\plug_ins
  4. Open the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\ and copy the file ProtectedModeWhitelistConfig.txt
  5. Paste the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\
